Went to Klinik Wong and Singh, had my checkup done and it went well. Saw my chest xray for a second time….just eyeball, didn’t look like it went worse, so I guess its good.

Had a Burger King bfast, then went to Ambank and changed my address, and also RHB to get my car card to be delivered there.

Came back, accidentally took a long nap….better set a 1h wakey time.

Then just went on a binge to clear up my thrash. Too much regrets buying all kinda junks. Gotta get rid of em.

Need a clean desk, always, no more excuse this time.

Went to get a checkup at Klinik Wong and Singh but somehow they don’t have the paperworks/process, so I didnt get to perform it right away. Anyway, I want to get a proper one with fasting, so let’s do it tomorrow.

Watched HarleyQuin, beautiful lighted show, it just made me envy the skill needed to color process to this level of craftsmanship. It’s a great movie with good pacing and despite feature an all women team, there is no unnecessary SJW commentary or overt anti patriarchy messaging here. Great fun, non sensical movie.

Bought a bunch of medical supplies, some for the Bangkok trip, mostly for my throat. I got lozenges, throat spray, betadine (need a smaller bottle to take along), and anti histamines and some ibuprofen. Should be fine. Party is on.

Had a nice dinner with Ray Kong, food is so so, but not a big deal. Shared my stories, heard some from him. Ruben couldn’t make it though but he promise we will do it again.

So, this is what I need to do continuously, to connect with people and not just be within a small circle, because being with friends and/or associates of friends, that’s how things can grow and you can gather energy from people through connection and story telling. And sometimes its the feedback that you need to trigger things you have forgotten.

Had a good one night break with mom at Sekeping Serendah. Place still looks the same even after more than 6 years since the last time I came here with here. Hope to come here at least once a year with her for as many years as possible.

Alright, got to restart the journal, been missing more than a week of entries due to diarrhea, not doing anything physical.

So I bought a book on TED, always loved TED presentations but the recent surge in SJW and climate related topics turned me off. Should still have kept it in mind and just avoided the topics I disliked.

On to the book, its about the power of storytelling. How it originated from stoneage when tribes of men gathered around campfire and shared tales of their hunt and harvest. Not sure if there were stoneage stand up, would love to hear a ludicrous tale of hunting mammoth and falling into a den of lions and coming out on top.

I believe that this is true as well, as Scott Adams often say, truth doesn’t matter, only persuasion. Within story telling, if you can embody strong emotional cues and personal experience that people can relate to, then you possess the power to convince, to persuade. Your white paper quotes and statistics are just fillers for powerpoint.

I had also met with an old friend (LS). His story of hardship reached me personally. Even if I don’t own much, I have near zero debt and possess the ability to pay my monthly bill for quite a while. Oftentimes we are always comparing ourselves with people that are better off. If this generates energy for you then great, if not, then these thoughts are not necessary.

I have also given much thought on what sort of brand do I want to embody. When friends gathered together, the common topics would be; who was doing well; who moved into a swanky place or got a sweet car. When hikers gathered, it would most probably be who did some really badass trip. Consciously knowing this difference is important. This is a threshold where you are able to define yourself. Do you want to be remembered as someone who owned some million dollar estate or do you want to be remembered as someone who did some really difficult hike and had a great story to share? Of course, having both is awesome, but what would you choose if you can have only one. That would be the brand you choose to embody.

I will be meeting some good ex colleague and friend from NEC time, perhaps I can test my idea on them.

23.01.2020, return to trail

Woke up a little late but still hit the trail. Energy level is pretty bad and leg a little shaky on the way down. Got greedy and drank some mango slushies, that was what triggered a light diarrhea, probably.

Things to do:

a) Got some medikit gear, time to arrange it in a small bag

b) Got my Honor Band, nice toy

c) Got the spare diarrhea meds, need to arrange it

22.01.2020, recovering!

This is the second day on antibiotics, energy recovering a bit. Will hit the trail tomorrow no matter what, no more excuses.

A quick list of things done,

a) Clean up some drives, photos

b) finally used the photobook malaysia services,will find out more about it, around RM14 for everything, lets see how it goes. If its awesome, use it constantly. Better deal than self printing, unless those zinc paper goes below RM2 per shot.

c) lost quite a bit of photos, thought I had it saved in other drives, sad!

d) ordered Huawei Honor Band 5, (not likely to arrive on Friday, but hope!)

e) caught up with EOA, got a call tomorrow with the director (Don’t blow it!)

f) ordered the knee band too

g) forgot to order the stronger band, will get it done

h) called Mr Tung 012 211 8330, need to call him again and send cars on 3rd feb to get it nicely painted and all

i) SOLE brand can be bought from Amazon, seems to have no issue delivering to Malaysia.

j) will try to get a sport sandal that can slot in a SOLE

k) ok, list getting real long here. I will also checkout Garmin Vivosmart 5 when its out, that Body Battery feature seems very attractive

l) when I feel energy level is down, go to the doctor, no shit, self healing never works unless its a bit of sorethroat which you can spam prospan. Food poisoning doesnt work. Also get a set of the meds earlier from Ben’s.

21.01.2020, 4th day of feeling sick

Ok, I gave up on natural healing and just get some consultation done, modern humans need drugs! Embrace it!. I was wobbling around on 25% energy all day for the past few days, sleeping wouldn’t do shit. Now I just need a set of this meds myself for travel use and stuff.

Things to do:

a) Get a typhoid shot

b) Get deworm medicines

c) Get Sandoz/azithromycin antibiotics from favorite pharmacy (no prescribe needed!) and some other stuff as well

d) Get a new can of OFF spray

Ok, if things feel better tomorrow, I will go for a quick hike.

Medicine combo for food poisoning:

Azithromycin (500mg, once a day)

Metroclopramide (10mg, 3 times a day) Abdominal pain, spasm

Colodium (Loperamide HydroChloride 2mg)Reduce diarrhea, take before food

Smecta (Dioctahedral smectite 3g) 1 pack a day, anti diarreahls

20.01.2020, great date!

Watched 1917 today, overall a great movie. The single tracking shot can be a little nauseating at times, and the horseface lead is not exactly a charmer (give me 3 hours of Tom Hanks!). The action is heavier on survival than combat and the portrayal of war and casualties are grim. If I have to choose one film over Star Wars, I would still watch this. No repeated viewing though, unlike Saving Private Ryan.

I got hit by food poisoning, not terribly, I’m not shitting water, but overall energy is tanked regardless of sleeping hours. Skipping abs workout for once today. Hope to recover by Weds, so I can catch up on training on Thursday and Friday. I have a surplus +1 from Week 3, but hope there is no need to use it.

Week 4 (18.01.2020), 1st training in Bukit Kiara

Just came back from a foodie trip to Penang with my buddy Kelvin, from 15 to 17th. Great trip, everything went well, took the funicular up Bukit Bendera (I hiked up and down last round, 6 hours in total!). Had a great time with the special sunset tour operated by The Habitat. Its RM99 but if you won’t return to this place for a while and the sky is clear (burning hot on that day!), go for it. There will be a 30min guided tour after the sun sets, with a wildlife expert showing where tarantula nests and flying lemur and such.

Got up real early the next day and did a trail in Bukit Kiara. I’m not sure if I got some food poisoning or just dehydrated from the trip plus the subsequent hike, but body sure aches as well after that. Build up quite a bit of gas the next day when I was hanging out with some nerdy friends from Averis in Bukit Bintang (19.01.2020).

Alright, no matter what, Monday 20.01.2020 need to get something done. Oorah.
