Wakes up at 6.30am bath, take the stuff then go, do some warm up to get the blood pumping if has time.
Got up then walked over to 711 to look for yoko yoko. It seems non existent there for similar products for body pain. Got some nice breakfast from the snack section, a nice pork burger and a cheese sandwich. Walked over to the other side and checked another 711 and its the same product they offer. Anyway, manage to get the safety pins.
Got back, hangout with the guys a bit and eventually the driver arrived. He’s just a dude and not a serious tour guide guy so there’s some serious miscommunication.
Kim Hoon described her situation in detail and Lee and I chipped in. We discussed a few other things as well, such as the Chinese situation in Malaysia.
After some long talk, we stopped by the road side a little I think around 11pm. Then eventually we reached a hardcore tourist trap floating Market. Did the usual touristy thing, ate a bowl of terrible Tom yam. When we got back to the starting point, I washed it down with a can of coke. We drove another 5min then reached this cafe by the highway. Ordered a latte frappe and a chicken salad. Its 12.51pm now.
Later we reached a huge temple with a tram to go up. The temple is called Wat Tham suea. Its has a magnificent Buddha covered in gold paint measuring 15m tall, in a sitting position. It has some huge pagodas to the left of the statues but we didn’t get up there. Hung around 30min then we got down.
Things get a little hectic as Lee and Kim Hoon scramble to make calls to the erawan center to inform them of late check in. It took another hour to get there. We passed by a gigantic dam along the way. Reached the park around 5.30.
Unloaded our stuff and walked 500m to the bungalows. Exceeded my expectations, it got a nice bath with heater, and aircond. Got our immediately and ate near the center.
Had 5 dishes… Sharing around 130. Got back to the room and the sky was about to get fully dark. Bath and wrote the journal, it’s 7.19pm now.
Rested a bit then went over to Lee’s room. Heard some stories of hardcore hiking from Lee, mostly from Kim Hoon. Then she told her epic tales of food finding in Japan and Taiwan, didn’t really know she was a hardcore foodie. She went on and on, I guess I’m too tired to talk something else. Earlier we also discussed about tibetan air burial rituals. Seems macabre but would be badass to actually witness it.
After that pierre seems a bit obsessed about his misplaced or lost charger for his iPhone. Supposedly Lee shared some blame because he didn’t pack it for him or he woke up too early or some such. Didn’t really know the story why those two are so bro and always share gears.
Well, didn’t stay long enough to eat my noodles, just brought it back to the room. Ate it then plan the gears to bring for tomorrow.
Got everything covered, a bit heavy though hope the ankle is OK and the hike not too insane. 30min for Lye Kit, maybe an 1 hour up for us? Stamina not really an issue, just agility.
Going to listen to music a bit more as I write the journal and wrap up today. Its 9.49pm now. Already brushed teeth can hit it anytime.
Hit the bed at 10pm.
In the mpv, meditate as much as possible.
